Triangle Quilt Along

The Sassy Quilter

I am part of the Mad About Patchwork
group over at Flickr,
Every Friday they pick a picture that has been uploaded
over the week, a work in progress, a finished item, a stash picture....
what ever it may be that has caught their eye over the week.

A few weeks ago, they picked my Dwell wall hanging
I won a half yard of fabric of my choosing,
I had a bundle of fat quarters I had been eyeing up for a while,
I bought the fat quarters, and asked them to pick out 2 fat quarter solids that would
coordinate with the bundle.

then I came across Paula at The Sassy Quilter
and decide that is what I wanted to do with this bundle
(A Triangle quilt was on my wish to make list for this year)

I was a little behind, it actually started a few weeks ago
some how the stars and the moons all aligned today
and my family left me alone most of the day
(yes I still made their meals, cleaned up after them, and did laundry and baking)
I was able to get caught up!!

all cut into 6 inch strips ready for triangles

I used my Hex and More Ruler by Jaybird quilts,
I think I will be using this ruler again....

All the triangle all ready to go,
I needed 230 and I ended up with 300,
So I altered the pattern to make it a bit bigger

My design wall seems not big enough

(this was when I took a break to bake for my wonderful family)

I decided to work on 4 rows at a time,
makes it not so over whelming

There is a whole lotta pressing to this quilt!!

EACH SEAM IS PRESSED before you can move on
Sit to sew, stand to iron, sit to sew, stand to iron,
20 times for each row!!
It's a workout

I am even impressed that my points are matching up
....most of the time

There now all caught up with the Quilt Along

Happy Sunday
Spring is finally showing itself around here

I got my workout in today as well! I love that you made hexagons out of your solids - smart thinking!
